Hello from Coach Jaime!
My name is Jaime Parady, but most know me as Coach Jaime. In 2002, I developed SoccerKids in San Francisco to teach children between the ages of 3.5 and 8 years of age the wonderful game of soccer. With such an enthusiastic soccer community in Marin, I am excited to lead SoccerKids classes in Novato.

I have over 20 years experience teaching children the game of soccer and hold the top state level and National Youth Coaching Licenses. Those are all great on paper, but what I am really proud of is my ability to help your child grow as a soccer player and as a person while on the soccer field. During a SoccerKids class I create a very positive atmosphere where having fun, trying your best, and good sportsmanship are much more important than winning. The final score of a SoccerKids game is always "Fun to Fun!"

Hello from Coach Shawn!

, I am a lead coach for SoccerKids in San Mateo and on the peninsula. After my college goalkeeping days came to an end, I started teaching children the game of soccer. Ten years and several coaching licenses later, I am excited to share the world’s most popular sport with your children.

Some of you may be asking "why soccer?" Most of us live very urban lifestyles in SF, which includes tight living quarters and even tighter schedules. Children need outdoor activities that make them happy, keep them engaged, and help them stay fit. The playground is a great outlet, but a structured play time that teaches them a sport they can play for the rest of their lives is invaluable.

Soccer, by far, is the most age-appropriate first sport for children. Unlike baseball and other sports that use hands, kicking a soccer ball incorporates the same large motor skills children use to walk. Hand-eye coordination develops later in life. Aerobically, the degree of activity a child gets playing soccer is many times that of the most demanding baseball game. The simplicity of the game is perfect for the young player. A coach need only point in the correct direction and remind them "NO HANDS FOR SOCCER!"

Hello from Coach Sarah!

My name is Sarah Vigil, but to your children I'm Coach Sarah. I am a lead coach for SoccerKids programs in Marin County. I have over 25 years playing experience, including being a member of the UC Berkeley Women's Soccer Team, and have been teaching children the game of soccer for over 10 years. I currently hold the United States Soccer Federation "E" coaching license.

Prior to joining Soccerkids I received my California Clear Teaching Credential in Early Childhood, Master's degree in Elementary Education, and was a founding teacher at Cow Hollow Preschool in San Francisco.

I believe that children have amazing potential and through the developmentally appropriate curriculum SoccerKids provides, will have fun learning and playing the sport. I have spent the past 10 years advocating for children and I continue to do so with Soccerkids. I love working with children and find them brilliant little people! Watching them grow and learn in a non-competitive atmosphere makes me feel lucky and excited to go to work everyday. I can truly say "I love my job!"

Hello from Coach Alicia!

My name is Alicia St. John and I couldn’t be happier to be known as Coach Alicia by the SoccerKids in Marin!  I absolutely love children and soccer!  I started playing soccer when I was 8 and played on recreation and select teams from that point forward.   I was a New Jersey State Champion soccer player three years in a row during high school.  But more important than winning was the fact that I had superb coaching that kept the focus on fun, effort and sportsmanship first!

I graduated from Colgate University in NY, and have a Masters in Physical Education from California State University at East Bay.  I currently have the California Youth Soccer Association “E” and “F” coaching licenses and I have taken all the Positive Coaching Alliance Courses developed out of Stanford. The SoccerKids curriculum and coaching staff are phenomenal and I am honored to be a part of such a fabulous program that truly puts children, learning, sportsmanship, and fun first!

Every day when I walk on to the field, the kids never cease to amaze me with the funny and creative things they say and do!  Thank you to all of our parents for sharing your precious spunky little ones with me!

Hello from Coach Heather!

Hi there! My name is Heather Westerhout and I’ve been teaching soccer with Soccerkids for over three years. I have always adored children, and this job has been the best opportunity for me to develop young minds and have so much fun while doing it!

I am confident that my degree in business management from Sonoma State and long history working with children will translate to a meaningful soccer experience for your child. Reflecting on my younger years spent swimming and playing soccer and softball, I truly understand how impotant it is to create a solid base in sports. A high-quality organized sports program can play an essential role in enhancing young peoples overall health --physical and mental.

I am excited about building this base and creating strong relationships with families in the Glen Park/Upper Noe area. My positive attitude and high energy on the field will keep your precious little ones enthusiastic while helping them develop good soccer skills and sportsmanship.

Hello from Coach Tim!

My name is Tim Jacobs, but the kids know me as Coach Tim. I've been playing the beautiful game since I've been able to kick a ball. I was a member of the California State Team for 5 years, The US Youth National Team, and a youth club team that was regional champions and national championship contenders for 6 years. An unfortunate injury ended my college soccer career, but I was fortunate to find coaching.

I began at the high school level and went on to assistant coach at junior colleges. But I always knew I would make more of an impact with the younger age group, I just didn't know how. Then I moved to San Francisco, found SoccerKids, and the rest is history.

Learning the SoccerKids method of coaching openned my eyes to the future of youth soccer in America. Being able to teach children as young as three and half the proper way to play the game by incorporating super fun games makes me smile just as much, if not more than the kids. Watching them learn sportsmanship and skills while having a blast doing it is the most rewarding thing in the world! Learning that it's not all about winning and more about having fun and doing your best helps them fall in love with a game that they and I will continue to love for years to come!

Hello from Coach Lauren!

Hello! I"m Lauren Mann but most of your kids know me as Coach Lauren. I have always found that working with children is both enlightening and entertaining and could not be happier that I found a job that incorporates how much fun I have teaching children and my love of soccer.

With the help of my Scottish blood and a ball at my feet from the time I could remember, I achieved four years as the starting goal-keeper for Harvard University.  I was also fortunate enough to train overseas with the Scottish National Team. However, when it came time to decide whether to continue playing after college or hang up my boots, I knew I could make a bigger impact as a coach.

With degrees in psychology, focusing on early childhood and development, and sociology, I believe that I can make an important impact on your children?s enjoyment of the game. Being able to come to work every day to the sound of children having a great time only furthers my efforts to improve the SoccerKids curriculum and make sure that your children discover the same love for soccer I have found.

Hello from Coach Miles!

Hi there! I'm Miles Simcox, or coach Miles. I grew up in Los Angeles as a full blown sports geek and aficionado. I played and excelled in every major sport in organized leagues until high school, when I dropped everything to pursue my baseball career full time. That dream came to an end shortly after beginning my collegiate career at USF, where I earned a B.A. in Media Studies/Film. I have since relocated to Marin and found an amazing opportunity to become part of the SoccerKids team!

Growing up the son of an elementary and pre-K teacher I was frequently around children. I observed and participated in a structured educational environment. As I grew older, I quickly picked up skills and methods in connecting with and helping children learn. Those experiences have proved invaluable within the SoccerKids world. I have worked in the past as a summer sports-camp counselor and have 2 toddler sisters, all contributing to my ability to facilitate a positive and fun environment for your children. I come to class with a smile on my face every day and truly feel profound joy from being a role model and mentor, in and outside the confines of the game of soccer itself.
